The Abbey offers 3 different upgrades. Upgrading the Abbey increases the types of stress treatments and their effectiveness.
Each visit comes with a 37.5% chance of a side effect, which can be either positive or negative.
Positive and negative non-quirks (ie. hope, blood loss and bloodletting) will remain with the characters until they are taken on a quest.

• 7.5% - ...has achieved enlightenment. New Quirk: Enlightened
  
• 7.5% - ...could not achieve a meditative state and has become frustrated. New Quirk: Unquiet Mind
• 5.6% - ...has gone on a personal vision quest to achieve enlightenment. (goes missing for 1 week)
  
• 1.9% - ...has gone on a personal vision quest to achieve enlightenment. (goes missing for 2 weeks)
  
• 3.75% - ...has achieved constant calm. New Quirk: Calm
  
• 3.75% - ...has achieved a state of emptiness and refuses to stop meditating. (stays in Cloister for another week)
  

• 6.8% - ...is filled with hope (-20% Stress) after communing with a Higher Power.
• 3.4% - ...has impressed the Abbot with piety and was given a trinket as a gift! (Trinket name)

• 6.8% - ...while praying, saw a glimpse of Greater Beings controlling destiny. New Quirk: God Fearing
  
• 6.8% - ...observed ...unsavory... activities and refused to take part in organized prayer again. New Quirk: Witness
  
• 3.4% - ...lost 1000 gold after becoming overcome with emotion and donating generously.

• 9.4% - ...became more strong and powerful (+20% DMG) after overcoming the challenges of the flesh.
